The objective of loss prevention is to maintain the well being of the employees and avoid future costs associated with increased experience rating. We will review the number and cost of past claims and establish specific future goals in consultation with your organization.
Our approach in addressing this challenge would be as follows:
Request from the carriers and review loss reports for the past seven years
Review client’s safety training, policies and practices
Identify physical hazards associated with most common causes of injuries and most severe injuries. Assess what, if any, morale hazards exist (employee indifference concerning losses).
Quarterly and annual review of results vis-à-vis agreed goals.
Often a disproportionate number of work injuries occur during the first 60 days of employment. Therefore, it is our belief that an effective work safety program needs to be understood by the newest employee in the organization. We keep safety as a positive, empowering aspect of the job. We position safety as part of each employee’s responsibility in taking care of themselves and others.
The following is an excerpt from one of our typical safety statements:
“You are an important member of our team. Your personal safety and security, and that of the staff and passengers are fundamentally important. These policies have been implemented to assure that your working environment is the safest possible. Please read this statement and ask about anything you do not understand or that concerns you.
General Injury Prevention. Most work injuries can be avoided by exercise of good judgment and common sense. Be aware of the conditions around you. Always think about what you are doing in terms of a potential injury that could occur. Take responsibility for your personal safety and that of the people around you. Report any unsafe conditions, or unsafe behaviors that you observe to your Supervisor. Follow these rules before, during and after your shift: …

When required, initial medical treatment of work injuries will be at__________________ be assured you will not be punished because you have an injury.
